Rig Oy operates and maintains a high quality electricity network at Outokumpu’s stainless steel industrial plant in Tornio. The network includes switchgears, compensators, transformers, cables and a network operating system. The network is operated by six employees. Due to process requirements, high peaks in electricity flow are typical, with the total consumption equalling to over 3 TWh a year. The technical operation of the network is demanding for both experienced, professional personnel as well as the equipment and systems.

RIG Oy has chosen Planora Oy’s Iisi-Netti services in carrying out its operations. The services include the visualisation of the electricity network at the factory site, updating changes to the system and control of network maintenance.
