Energy production study of Korvenkylä

In 2011 Planora Oy carried out a general energy production study for the city of Oulu regarding the suburb of Korvenkyla under new city planning. The study compared the following energy production alternatives:

building-specific geothermal heating
area-specific geothermal heating
area-specific biofuel heating plant
connection of predefined areas to the district heating network of Oulun Energia company

The study comprised

defining the energy demands of buildings and the predefined areas
preliminary dimensioning of the heating network and planning its preliminary route map
site proposal for centralised heat production equipment
calculations of investment needs and energy prices
